Management of Digital Content Industries

As the networked communications infrastructures have disrupted the various media content industries, leading to a crisis regarding the economic sustainability of these industries, there is an urgent need to investigate the existing best practices and learn the new ways of managing the institutions of media content production.
The specific focus of the Summer School will be on the emerging multiplatform publishing and content diversification strategies – known as crossmedia strategies of forms of transmedia storytelling. We will investigate the associated ways of content development as well as the relevant models of business development. Under special focus will be the management of participatory media as well as social media strategies for media institutions. Our lecturers as well as co-students will be coming from several countries around the Baltic Sea (Sweden, Finland, Estonia, Russia) and from other countries in Europe.
The course is targeted at MA and advanced BA students, but the doors are also open to interested professionals from media institutions in the region. Each participant receives a diploma of completion together with 2 ECTS credits.
