Call for Applications: Arab Documentary Photography ProgramEvents 07.03.2020
Deadline: 1 May 2020
The Arab Documentary Photography Program supports and amplifies creative approaches to visual storytelling that challenge conventional narratives about the Arab region.
Selected grantees receive production support in the amount of $5,000 USD to produce long-term creative projects within an eight-month mentorship program with Randa Shaath, Eric Gottesman, Tanya Habjouqa, and Peter van Agtmael. Over the course of their project development, grantees come together for two intensive workshops in Beirut, where they have the opportunity to connect in person with each other and their mentors to edit and consider avenues for distribution.

Photographers from and working in the Arab region are invited to submit proposals that touch on social issues and realities relevant to the region. Applicants who have had to flee their home countries since 2012 due to political unrest are also eligible so long as their proposed projects are related to the region.
Applicants will be evaluated by an independent committee composed of experts and artists drawing from diverse backgrounds and originating from various parts of the Arab region and beyond.
