Vacancy for Finance Assistant in Brussels, Belgium

The position          

Part-time position – based in Brussels

We are looking for an enthusiastic person to work with JA Europe’s Chief Finance Officer in financial and operational matters.

The responsibilities (non-exhaustive)        

Provide support to CFO:

Daily Financials:

  • Issuing invoices
  • Petty Cash
  • Bank and credit card statements
  • Preparing and encoding payments for the payment book
  • Filing/Archiving of accounting docs, important correspondence and contracts
  • Trip reports coordination
  • Track and process payment requests, liaise with financial department to ensure timely payment;
  • Maintain a paper and electronic archive of all related documentation
  • Supporting procurement
  • Perform additional tasks as required by the CFO

Financial aspect of ongoing projects

  • Time Sheets
  • Financial reports of EU projects
  • Reconciliation of EU projects financial reporting

Provide assistance under CFO’s coordination

  • Technical support of projects applications
  • Drafting budgets
  • Administrative support to the team when needed

Office administration

  • Supplies
  • Communication with suppliers

The candidate         

  • Must be fluent in English (written/spoken)
  • High personal drive and strong initiative to achieve results
  • Well-organized and systematic approach to work and excellent time management skills
  • Good prioritization skills and ability to work under minimum supervision to tight deadlines
  • Strong diplomatic communication and people skills
  • Proactive issue resolution and trouble shooting

Experience

  • At least 2 years of relevant working experience
  • Experience with financial support role
  • Experience with support of managing EU projects
  • Experience with presentations, briefs, meeting planning and support
  • Experience of working with education programs
