Call for Applications for an Early-Career Scientist to Join the SCOR Executive Committee




The Scientific Committee on Oceanic Research (SCOR) is an international non-governmental organization whose vision is to advance international ocean research, within and across disciplines, by stimulating international cooperation in ocean sciences. More information about SCOR can be found at

Requirements: Applicants should be no more than 10 years from PhD not counting time for family leaves, and should be affiliated to an ocean science organization, institution, or government agency. Applicants should have good communication skills in English, both speaking and writing.


Application and Review Process: Applicants should submit by email (1) the appended form, (2) a short CV (maximum 3 pages), and (3) two reference letters by the 17th of July to the SCOR Secretariat ( The SCOR Executive Committee will select a candidate by the 28th of August. The selected candidate is expected to attend the SCOR 2020 Annual Meeting in October, which is conditioned to global travel conditions. If travel is still restricted, the meeting will be done virtually.
