Call for Applications: Online Course for Journalists Covering Conflict and Peace in Colombia

The International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) in Colombia, with the support of the Editorial Board (CdR) organization, presents the 2020 edition of the virtual course 'Conflict, violence and IHL in Colombia: tools for journalists'. It is free and is aimed at communicators who want to broaden their knowledge on preparing information agendas with humanitarian approaches.

During the training process, it is expected that the analysis and construction of journalistic agendas around the realities that the regions are facing in the face of the armed conflict, the situation they face after the peace agreements between the Government of Colombia and the FARC, will be promoted. EP, armed violence in urban settings and other humanitarian problems that still persist in the territories.

Purpose of the virtual course 

Provide conceptual and methodological elements to cover issues related to conflict and international humanitarian law (IHL), and armed violence in urban settings. In addition, a process of production of stories focused on the principles of IHL will be accompanied.


To journalists and social communicators who work in Colombia or on issues related to Colombia. In particular, those who cover issues related to armed conflict, peace and public order. Those with at least one year of work experience are valued.
