Call for applications: European Forum Alpbach Programme

Every year, over 650 students from almost 100 nationalities participate as scholarship holders in the European Forum Alpbach. Join smart minds from around the world in a charming Alpine village, immersing yourself in an environment bursting with novel ideas, new ways of thinking and opportunities for making great contacts. With the Alpbach Scholarship Programme, young people under 30 (or under 35 for African scholarship holders) can attend this leading interdisciplinary conference and a variety of academic and artistic seminars. Take a look at this year’s Seminar Week programme!


Applications from all countries and all academic disciplines are welcomed. Artists and non-graduates are strongly encouraged to apply!

The basic requirements for all applicants are:

  • English proficiency (Minimum B2);
  • Certificates & Transcripts;
  • Minimum 12-Day Attendance;
  • Filled-out online application.


There are the 3 first-time scholarship types:

  • Basic Scholarship
  • Partial Scholarship
  • Full Scholarship


The online application is divided into 2 parts:

  • Part 1 (cannot be saved, only submitted):
  • Filling out the CV form & uploading the required documents
  • Part 2 (can be saved and continued later):
  • Writing a motivational statement & answering the given question
